MORNING / GOLD / MOUTH

a famous byword says: "The morning has gold in mouth!"

The first sketches of 2017. The firstone realized by "sanguigna"
a red ocher used to make crayons for drawing, much in use since the Renaissance and from the Baroque to the pleasant color and the nice smooth gradation. I really love this crayon, the touch and consistent is wonderful. You can do what you want, and the colour is soft. So feminine.

There are different kind of "sanguigna" to realize this sketch I used:
+ Pencil Sanguigna dry can nuanced being at will and must be protected with fixative. It is' particularly suitable for making portraits, shadows and shades.

+ Pencil Sanguigna Fat requires no primer and is therefore particularly suitable to dripping or extemporaneous portraits.

The Sanguigna is available both in the form of a square section rod which is formed by pressing the powder, both as a mine of wooden pencils. The hardness is higher than the graphite and the yield of light and shade is smaller than the charcoal.

You can find some pencil here:
+ Matita Sanguigna Rembrant Lyra

There are a lot of wonderful artist very good in sanguigna use, if your looking for some inspiration :)

I hope to inspire you.
Have a great day to everyone!

HOW / TO DRAW / LEGS

How to draw legs

Put a bad weather with cold and wind, a cup of tea, a warm plaid and a pencil...
Here you are! A perfect moment to do some exercises!
Until now I've been always inspired by portraits, details, eyes, etc... but I decided to go away and do practice with other body's parts like legs.

I took some helps by anatomic books, modeling, web, and photographs.
There are a lot of ways to improve your drawing here:

For this sketch I used, pencil HB | 2B | 4B, rubber, and paper smudge.

VOGUE / ZARA / PORTRAIT / FASHIONWEEK

Tell me a story
"Portraits Zara model inspiration" | Luana Berti 2016 - graphite on paper

Leafing the new Zara collection I'm completely impressed from happy portraits, great smiles, and expressive eyes.
This is the gender which I prefer. And since we are in full fashion week
I can't stop to look collections and fashion photographes.

"Psychedelic" | Luana Berti 2016 - graphite and watercolours on paper

The first detail that I look in a picture is the expression, if it tells a story or if it is just a beautiful shoot.
It must give me something. There are a lot of wonderful pictures in photography
but just a few are able to tell a story. These are only few pictures
that captured my attention while a was looking for a story. And you? What do you think about it?

PUT / YOUR / HEART / INTO / SOMETHING/ IT'LL BE/ WONDERFUL

Instagram is perfect, if you are patient, to find photographs  to draw. Personally I don't love pictures set, beautiful and without emotion, I prefer to focus on
something that has the "magic", the ability to capture my attention for hours.

It's raining incessantly for days and these are the best moments to close myself in a huge warm plaid with the Sketchbook in my hand .

WATERCOLOR / SKETCH / SKETCHBOOK

Watercolor • Sketch & exercises

5 / SKETCH / IN / 5 / DAYS

5 SKETCH IN 5 DAYS

A cup of burning tea, so as to tarnish the glasses, rain mix fog outside, max temperature 2 celsius degrees...the perfect atmospher to start my marathon.
For 5 days, every evening, after have come back from work, I have add one sketch for a day at my sketchbook. Mobile phone in offline mode, pencil and sketchbook in hand and let's go. Apple (my baby bunny) was curious and she moved back and forth, following every small movement , who knows if she had noticed to be the star of the sketch or with her big teeth on the pencil she was only thinking to do a DIY?

Giorno 1 8 di mattina del mercoledì - colazione
Chi sono? Dove mi trovo? Perchè sono sveglia?
8:30 di sera. Musica, cuffie, esercizi prova acquerello. La carta non è quella giusta. L'effetto dell'acqua sulla carta è magico. Striscio, asciugo, aggiungo colore. E' divertente.
Day 1
Wednesday 8:00 AM - having breakfast
Who am I? Where am I? Why am I awake?
8:30 p.m. Music, headphones, watercolor test exercizes. The paper is not right. Magic water's effect on the paper. Smear , wipe , add color. It is funny.

Giorno 2
Day 2
Thursday 9:30 PM. I had dinner with the tablet under my nose all the time, finding interesting ideas . Apple bored pours out blue water for watercolors, result: blue water, blue rabbit trotters....

Giorno 3
Day 3. 00:24 am. Out with my friends. Last trends, sunglasses, thinking about summer.

HOW / WHERE / WHEN

No dico niente.

Have you ever happened days where you would have all the time and the determination necessary for the creation and work of the century, but not one shred of INSPIRATION? Free table, with pens, pencils, watercolors, new block, such new to scroll pages under your fingers and bring the nose to inhale the smell of the paper ... but nothing fantastic. No nothing I say. No stimulus, one shred of idea on which work. And now what can you do? It needs the inspiration, yes but you can’t find it so, it's not a simple thing, It takes observation, action, perseverance, patience or simply luck.
And so you start to comb through all the magazines and books that you have at home, with no results. You throw yourself on the couch in slippers holding the remote as if it was a weapon spouting like lightning among the channels until you get to Fashion Channel TV, thank goodness ... for 30 minutes you find almost relief, just for 30 minutes but then your brain in action again, damn I have a name in my head and I can’t remember it… mmmm that anger when it happen!

Taken from utter despair, I turn off the TV, I grab the laptop and I find the pictures of Katie Rogers and I say waw! The clothes that she designs are
fantastic and she has a great trait! After 2 minutes I'm Already on Pinterest  to create the Katie Rogers 's board!
